0 WWW: Baking Soda vs. Baking Powder

O.k. It's Wednesday. I'm trying to stay on track with "What Went Wrong" and doing it on Wednesday.

First, I love it that people actually read my blog. Makes me feel good!

Second, I love it when people try the recipes. Makes me feel better...not everyone has the same taste in food, you know!

Third, I really love it when people send me feedback when after they have tried the recipe...makes me feel great when it turns out! When I look for recipes on the Internet, I look at the comments and make adjustments based on those comments. When I get feedback that things are not quite right, I do more research and try to make it better.

So, what went wrong, you ask? My darling cousin tried my blueberry muffin recipe. She was so sweet to email me and ask if the amount of baking soda was correct in the recipe.

I zoomed over to my recipe and checked it for errors.

When I saw that my recipe called for baking powder, not baking soda, as she thought, I realized that she may have made a very common error...

using baking soda when the recipe calls for baking powder.

And, no, they are NOT the same thing. Just don't ask me how they are different...look it up if you really want to know.

I've made that mistake before...and I didn't have 4 children running me to distraction at the time!

It's good to learn from mistakes. And to keep trying! That's how we all become better at what we do.
