78 A Stupid Stunt and A $60 July Giveaway!! ***CLOSED***

When you are cooking in the kitchen, and even more importantly, photographing food for a blog, lighting is important.

Our kitchen fluorescent light fixtures are hard wired into a timer and the timer quit working.  That meant the lights would be on ALL night.  The only way to turn them off was to unplug them.

Maybe it was the movie I had just watched the night before (The Spy Next Door, with Jackie Chan) or the fact that I wasn't even thinking at all, but I climbed up onto the counter, climbed onto the fridge, and then onto the landing where we have three sets of fluorescent lights plugged in.  Unplugged the lights, and began my ascent down.

I made it to the fridge and got one foot almost onto the countertop.  I could feel my hands slipping from the ledge, so I jumped.   Like the good, former gymnast that I am, I remembered to bend my knees and make a "stick it" landing that would make any gymnastics judge proud.  Only I didn't land on a cushy mat.  I landed on a rock hard tile floor.

Within five minutes, I had a searing pain in both of my heels.  I could not walk.  Immediately did RICE  first aid: rest, ice, compression, elevate.  Got an x-ray a few days later with good news and bad news.  The good news is that I have no fractures.  The bad news is that my heels will be sore for up to four months.

No more skipping around the kitchen, let alone jumping or running.  Just a rude reminder that I am not sixteen years old anymore.  The next day, CSN Stores contacted me with another giveaway! Now, that is great news!!  CSN Stores is a group of stores that has everything....lighting, furniture, home decor, shoes and much, much more!  Shipping is free on many of their items and they have a fabulous no hassle return policy!

Here's even better news....you, my dear readers, will get to choose what to order from CSN Stores if you are a winner.  What is on your wish list?

How about a stylish leather computer tote bag?  This is $60 and has free shipping!

We need a new double stroller, so I'd probably put it toward that. Although I'd rather have something fun for myself...maybe when my kids grow up. :)
