Meet The Bread Baker

Hi!

Welcome to my blog! You must be here because like me, you love bread!

I am a Utah native with two grown boys (three, if you count my husband!) who love to cook and bake as much as I do. When I'm not playing in my kitchen, I'm reading, walking with my puppy, or watching a movie with my family. I taught in Elementary and Junior High schools for many years and retired after a few years as a Special Education Administrator.

I learned to make a light, not dense loaf whole wheat bread, buttery Dinner Rolls, and super soft sugar cookies in my mom's kitchen.  A few years ago, I started teaching 'hands-on' bread making classes to my friends and neighbors, who loved bringing their baby dough home, baking it in their oven and permeating their homes with the smell of freshly baked bread.

It was in one of these classes that someone suggested I begin a blog and share my recipes. I have had a blast researching, testing and sharing only the BEST recipes. Since I can't be in your kitchen, guiding you every step of the way,  it's my goal to SHOW you how to make bread and other yummy comfort foods, STEP by STEP, and learn some tips along the way.  A tip?  Practice, practice, practice.  Never give up.  Surrender to the intoxicating aroma of a freshly baked loaf of bread, crusty roll, or a buttery breadstick.

Another adventure I have been enjoying is pressure cooking. I got my first stove top pressure cooker at my wedding many moons ago, and used it for cooking creamy mashed potatoes, and perfectly cooked carrots. Fast forward to 2010 when I spied an electric pressure cooker, that looked so much easier to use! I began experimenting more, cooking fork tender meats, pasta, steamed veggies, and ultra smooth cheesecakes. My newest and favorite electric pressure cooker now allows our family to enjoy smooth, creamy yogurt on a daily basis.

I enjoy every step of the way, and I hope you do, too.
