4 Nature's Pride Bread

When people find out that I make my own bread on a regular basis, this question always pops up, "Do you ever buy your own bread?"

If I'm desperate, sick, or busy, I will buy bread.  It's whatever is the cheapest and what I would call, "duck bread."  You know, the kind of bread that you would feed the ducks?

As part of the FoodBuzz Tastemaker program, I opted in to receive some bread from Nature's Pride.  I was expecting a loaf of white or wheat bread to show up, but this is what showed up on my doorstep...

Country White Bakery Buns

100% Whole Wheat Bakery Buns

Country White Deli Rolls

The very first thing I did was turn the packages over and read the ingredients.  Nature's Pride makes their bread with 100% all natural ingredients.  No preservatives!  If you can't pronounce an ingredient or know what it is, toss it.  That's my motto.

The next thing I did was look at the nutrition label.  The white breads boast 25% less sodium, 0 grams of transfat, and 7 grams of protein per serving.

The wheat bread contains 36 grams of whole grains and 25% less sodium, and 0 grams of transfat per serving.  That's pretty darn good.

I was feeling tired and hungry and wanted a quick dinner.  I pulled out some of my homemade Marvelous Meatballs and leftover spaghetti sauce from the freezer.

Presto!

A meatball sub sandwich!

I really wanted to put some mozzarella cheese on this and melt it, but hubby downed this pretty quickly...and wanted another one ~

The next day, I made these uh-mazing hamburgers.

They are so good, they deserve a post all to themselves....stay tuned!

The verdict?  I would definitely be skipping the "duck bread" and looking for these breads the next time I'm at the supermarket.  These are the next best thing to homemade....soft, fresh and full of flavor.

Thanks FoodBuzz and Nature's Pride!

  1. When I'm "forced" to buy store bread I always buy Nature's Pride whole wheat. We love it!

  2. I responded to receive these, too. I received two loaves of their bread, about a year ago. I've bought it ever since. It's great bread! I'm looking forward to trying these, too.
