5 Cinco de Mayo & A Kitchen Tip

In my Beef Steak Stroganoff post, I introduced you to this tomato paste.  In a tube.  Who would've thought?

If you find yourself buying the little cans of tomato paste and throwing a good chunk of it away, check your grocery store for these tubes or find it HERE at Amazon.com.

You can still use the little cans of tomato sauce.  Try this ~

Line a baking sheet with plastic wrap.

Scoop desired (I used 1 teaspoon) amount onto tray.

Place tray in freezer for 1-2 hours.

Place frozen tomato patties in a freezer bag, label, date and return to freezer.

Now, anytime you need tomato paste, just grab what you need ~

Happy Cinco de Mayo!  Here's some recipes you might enjoy ~

  1. Using an ice tray for the leftover tomatoe paste works really well too! After it is frozn you just crack it out like ice and put it in a bag to use later.
