3 Let's Get Grilling! Homemade Teriyaki Burgers

My husband is a tropical kind of guy.  Loves the beach, sand, waves, and of course the food.

This is a hearty burger doused with homemade teriyaki sauce and paired with pineapple rings.

Are you ready to grill?

The first thing I do is fire up my gas grill to HIGH and close the lid.

After a few minutes, I open the grill and get my trusty wire brush out and clean off any bits....

It's easier to clean the grill while it's hot ~

Next is to get the grill oiled.  This keeps your food from sticking.

A half of an onion dipped in vegetable oil does the trick!

A grilled onion is a nice complement to any dish...

Next, I make the teriyaki sauce.  Please don't grab the bottled stuff....this is really easy to make!

I promise!

All it takes is soy sauce, sugar, and ketchup.  I grate some frozen ginger, stir and let it warm it up to blend all the flavors.

I just love the smell of fresh ginger....

I grab a frozen (yes, frozen) Homemade Hamburger Patty and plop it on the hot grill.

After one side is cooked, I dip my silicone pastry brush into the teriyaki sauce and smear it on the hamburger patty...

don't forget the pineapple rings, too.  Can't leave them out!

After the second side of the hamburger is cooked, I grab a slice of Swiss cheese, put it on top, and cover the grill.

After a couple of minutes, this is what you get...

Are you drooling yet?

Put some mayo and more teriyaki sauce on each side of the buttered and toasted buns...(thanks to Nature's Pride for the buns!)

Layer some lettuce, red onion, with the burger and pineapple ~ and you're good to go!

Now this is THE burger that will mindlessly transport anyone to a tropical island ~

Oops! I just about drooled on the keyboard. This is exactly what I've been thinking of making at home. I've been on a Red Robin Banzai Burger kick for quite a while now...when I want a g*o*o*d burger.
