Have you ever tried to strain foods from the can, especially tuna fish with the lid? Pressed the lid so hard that the lid bent in half and you got sprayed with smelly tuna juice?
Yup. It's happened to me many times. Too many to count.
A couple of years ago, my mom watched me struggle draining some tuna fish. It was very much like the episode on Everybody Loves Raymond.
"Sweetie," she said, "I have the answer for you."
The next day, she gave me this...
This is a Tuna Press from Progressive. It allows you to press the tuna down in the can and drain the smelly tuna water.
Too bad Debra didn't have one of these. But she did offer Ray a licked clean fork....
As per my Cool Kitchen Tool rule, it has to have more than ONE use to qualify....
You can turn this over and use to drain canned spinach, corn, beans, pineapple and olives.
This doesn't take up much space and is dishwasher safe.
It's a cool tool!

I have one of those strainers. I never thought to use it as a mini colander. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWhat a scream when I bought that safe can opener...it took me a couple of days to figure out how to use it...I'm definitely a diversely able tecno freak! Hugs from the West Portico...ps: The tuna thingy is very cool but I have a tiny pasta strainer which I have been using for a coon's age.
ReplyDeleteoooh you have me convinced I need this too now! :) haha

I love kitchen gadgets! I had one of those can openers - and eventually wore it out!
ReplyDeleteI love this thing (strainer). I had one from Pampered Chef, but I lost it. Now I know where to find one. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI won that tool at a Pampered Chef party as a door prize!
