38 A Basketful of Bunny Backsides!
Spring has finally sprung and I'm in the mood for Easter baking!! These cute Easter bunnies will be the topic of your Easter dinner and they are so easy to make!
My favorite Dinner Roll recipe is the very first bread recipe I have ever made and continue to make over the years. Thanksgiving? Funeral? Birthday dinner? Gotta have homemade rolls. Dinner with your sweetheart? Then try these Puffy Heart shaped dinner rolls.
You really don't need a special occasion for these rolls, but I hope you make these for your Easter dinner.
Here's how!
I weigh each piece of dough on a digital scale to 1.5 ounces. If you don't have a scale, just make the dinner roll recipe and divide the entire batch into 24 pieces.
Pinch off a small piece of dough...
and roll it into a ball. These are the tails for your bunnies!
Roll each piece on a lightly greased counter into a 12"- 14" rope. I do four at a time to let the dough rest for easier shaping.
Bring both ends of the rope and give it a single twist, leaving a hole open at the bottom. Make sure you spread the "ears" out a little, as they will "puff" and enlarge.
Place the tail into the hole and press gently. No need to "glue" it on.
Here's a whole sheet of bunnies ready for the oven!
Bake for 12 minutes and ta-da! You will soon have a basketful of bunnies!
Hoppy Easter, everyone!

ReplyDeleteI was wondering... I'm looking for a slider bun recipe and thought of you. You do such a great job with bread. Do you know anything about slider buns? I tried a my regular bun recipe, but they turned out dry and the crust was hard... like a baguette.
Any advice?

ReplyDeleteThese are just the cutest things EVER! I love them. Adorable. You're going to have to make some for my family Easter dinner though, because I'm pretty sure I could never make them. My bunnies would look more like roadkill I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteThese are very sweet and a fantastic idea for the Easter table. However, we are not so polite here in Australia and I suspect they would vey quickly be christened "bunny bums"!
